Offering the same 32 tons of rated power at 2900 PSI and effective 4.5 second cycle time at 20 GPM as the Split-Fire 4203, the 4403 gives you greater flexibility with the addition of an interchangeable 2-way/4-way wedge.
Thanks to a quick-change pin, the knife can be swapped in less than 5 seconds letting you decide on the fly whether you want to quickly break down large, straight-grain logs to firewood size with the 4-way knife, or power through difficult, knotty wood with the 2-way knife. Thanks to this versatility and the raw power of the 4403 when used on a high-flow tractor with good pressure, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a piece of wood that this machine won’t split.
To manage the added forces that come with 4-way splitting, the 4403 has had its frame lengthened and reinforced, and been given a specific 4-way slider and heavy-duty log stops. Like all of our wood splitters, the 4403 uses self-lubricating UHMW slide pads, and as a 3pt hitch machine, all hydraulics are supplied by your tractor. This adds up to the 4403 being a maintenance-free machine, able to work for you year after year and decade after decade.
