MACHINES
32 Series:
The 32 Series comes with a fixed two-way wedge (sometimes referred to as a knife or blade) that is welded directly to the slider assembly and moves back and forth with the ram.
34 Series:
The 34 Series features a stub welded to the slider assembly, allowing you to slide either a two-way or four-way wedge onto the machine depending on your splitting needs. The frame is also reinforced to handle the additional forces created when a four-way wedge is used on twisted or knotty wood.
HD Tires:
HD tires use a four-bolt hub assembly designed to withstand highway speeds and extended road travel. They are also more durable in heavy brush and wooded terrain.
Standard Tires:
Standard tires use a simple spindle system and are intended for towing around your property, through the bush, or on back roads at lower speeds.
Stand-alone units:
Use AW32 hydraulic oil.
Implement-run units (tractor, skid steer, or excavator):
Use the hydraulic fluid recommended for your machine. Before operating, ensure your machine’s hydraulic reservoir is topped up, as the splitter will draw fluid from the host machine.
Please note: if you move the splitter between different machines, completely drain the hydraulic fluid before reconnecting it. This helps prevent cross-contamination of different hydraulic oils.
Refer to your owner’s manual for the correct hydraulic fluid capacity. The required amount varies depending on the model.
Yes. All Split-Fire machines arrive fully assembled. For shipping purposes, certain bolt-on accessories, such as hitch extensions, may need to be installed upon arrival. All required hardware is included.
Slide pad life depends on usage.
- Commercial use: approximately 10 years
- Homeowner use: approximately 12-15 years
To check for wear, pull the wedge from side to side. If there is more than ½ inch of movement, the slide pads should be replaced.
