the 3203 can split many types of wood. The hydraulic lift table worked great and provided plenty of working space while splitting 100 lbs.+ pieces. I was able to split several slabs then stack and re-split them making quick work. It even performed well on knotty and stringy elm. The 3″ slightly setback extension eases into the wood making for a 11″ total split. Most of the time 1300-1400 rpm was all that was required, then bumping up for tougher pieces. This was attached to a LS 3038 tractor. Don’t buy – INVEST in Split-Fire!
